WAX MELTÂ & CANDLE CARE
WHAT ARE YOUR CANDLES & MELTS MADE OF?
They are all made from premium eco soy wax, and vegan and cruelty free fragrance oil. Any glitter in the wax melts is biodegradable and eco-friendly.
WHY DO YOU USE SOY WAX?
Soy wax is said to have a number of environmental and health benefits, and we love working with it. Here are some of our top reasons for choosing soy wax:
Soy wax is a sustainable, renewable, and natural vegetable wax that’s safe for your skin and respiratory system.
Soy wax burns on average 40-50% slower than paraffin wax, resulting in long-lasting candles and giving you better value for money.
Soy washes away with warm soapy water making it easy to repurpose your vessel once the candle has burned down.
Soy wax is clean burning and doesn't release toxins, carcinogens or pollutants which means it's less likely to trigger allergies.
Soy wax doesn’t release carbon soot and keeping the wick trimmed short will ensure the candle doesn't smoke and that it burns efficiently.
HOW DO I USE WAX MELTS?
Our wax melts are perfect for both tea light burners and electric burners.
Simply place your oil burner on a heat-proof surface and snap off as many Filia Snap Bar segments as your burner requires, we recommend adding one at a time to prevent overfilling, and place it in the top bowl of the burner.
Now place an un-scented tealight at the bottom of the burner under the bowl.
The heat from the lit tealight will melt the wax and the fragrance will be released into the room.
When you can no longer smell the fragrance it is time to remove the remaining wax from the burner.
HOW DO I CLEAN THE WAX OUT OF MY BURNER?
There are many ways of doing but we usually light a tea light in the burner, wait about a minute or until the wax just starts to heat, and then press gently on the edge of the wax to pop it out. We then wipe up any leftover wax with a cotton pad.
Alternatively if your wax is already melted you can use cotton wool to soak up the remaining liquid
HOW DO I LOOK AFTER MY CANDLE?
We recommend you burn your candle for at least 2-4 hours on its first burn to allow the wax to melt out to the edges. The wax will then melt down evenly after this, meaning you’ll get more from your candle and not lose any product. You should also cut the wick of your candle to around 1/4" before each burn to avoid a build-up which can create ‘smoking’.
HOW DO I CLEAN THE WAX OUT OF MY CANDLE JAR WHEN FINISHED?
If you pour some hot water into the glass jar and wait about a minute the wax will loosen from the jar and float to the top and then you can just pull it out and throw it away. Be careful not to burn yourself if the water is still hot that you have poured into the glass jar.
